I just thought of something really interesting. Any guy, every guy, whenever he sees another guy holding a ball of any sorts (football, baseball, dodgeball, high bounce ball that costs a quarter out of a gumball machine) must also at some point, hold the same ball. I think in the dream, Dan is emblematic, more like an Ace Ventura Dan than a Miami Dan, if you can dig that, and he's speaking as sort of a creative consciousness-self. But, in short, if Dan is coming to you to talk shop, it's probably a good omen. Think about the setting of the dream, too, as that'll probably play into it.

You should come to the metal party. I hear it's this weekend. We'll arm wrestle and do a shot of tequila or some such tawdry behavior. And we'll be dressed up metal, to boot.
