Well, Obama won by like a bajillion electoral votes.  Hooray.  He even won the state of Indiana.  So now when I tell people where I was raised, I won't have to add that I lived right outside of Chicago.  But I'll still add that, because it's a fucking hick state.

Yeah, I think that whole Prop. 8 thing was a bunch of crap. All of the squalling conservatives do about "family values," and then some people who happen to be gay actually want to have some and they won't let 'em.

And as far as the whole "first black president" thing goes, it's like when the Bears played the Colts in the Superbowl and everybody got all excited about the "first black coach to win the Superbowl." I can't remember who said it at that time (may have been Tony Dungee)but we'll be a lot further ahead when we don't get all excited about this stuff, when it's just normal.
