Travel musings

Got a few night shifts as overtime shifts, which is sweet :) It means I'm online hunting down info on my next holiday destinations.

I have a week off in August and I've been thinking of going back to Japan. Although, I should go to a team meeting at work so that'd make it 5 days. And I'd then miss Briony/Amelia/Rachel's birthdays too. Perhaps I should stay home, make hats, and put the money into the mortgage. Hmm... but there's gigs by Junior, the Royal Shamrocks, and a Theatic+Alamode gothic club night.

Anyway, late August we're heading to the UK. Hitting Electric Ballroom the first Friday night (21st August), meeting up with 2 of the spanish dudes I met in Tokyo, and hopefully a few other friends. Saturday we shoot across to Devon for the Beautiful Days festival, with the Pogues, Wonderstuff and Living End - and to see some old mates :)

Then a visit to the Fat Duck (rated no 2 restaurant in the world), before heading back to London Tuesday night for the Offspring gig. See a few friends and family members before the weekend of the Reading Festival 28th-30th.

Final week we fly to Dublin to catch up with old friends Ann, Taylor and Eoin. Then seeing family and friends again and on the last Saturday night hitting Slimelight.

Hopefully somewhere there, we'll be able to see Jimmy Carr do stand-up, as he's the funniest, sickest comedian around. www.jimmycarr.com

(A twitter excerpt: "apparently I've been voted the 2nd most 'upbeat celeb on twitter'. which f**king sucks. I f**king hate coming 2nd. Oops I'm probably 3rd now")

Alas, his tour schedule only goes to Aug 16th.
