Distracted

Sep 02, 2013 11:09

So I came here to write about my werid weekend and I ended up getting celebrity distracted. The piece about the Kiwi law students doing a parody of some nasty song about women-- the law students' parody was pulled from YouTube but the celebrity nasty piece stays. Ain't that just the way it is ( Read more... )

Oh, wow, that sounds awful. I'd have suggested not doing a long drive at all this soon after the cataract surgery. I remember a week after my surgery going to a Song Circle at the Taylors' old farm and suddenly having my eye go terribly dry. Very painful and I couldn't drive at all. I had to get Danna to drive me home.

My experience was despite having generally good (even great) vision with after the surgery MOST of the time, it was a full two months before I could COUNT on the eye behaving well during a stressful event, especially at night. It really is full eye surgery that requires several weeks of recovery, even though it seems like things are good in just a couple of days.

I'm glad you finally got home safely, and I trust the bad vibes between you and JF will be soothed soon. Like so many of us, the bad judgement happens because we push ourselves to continue even when our bodies are giving us clear signs that we should stop. We override those signs to our peril.

I remember how it was for you, Judy, and I've been having a very different experience. I thought, heck this is easier than the way Judy described it. Hahaha. I live and learn. Lesson: Always listen to Judy.

This is so well-written, Trish. I can feel the anguish and upset and frustration. What a string of events but it's no use going over the bad decisions part, no point in
being mad at yourself or at anybody or anybody at you.
Travel adventure mentality seems to flee when we see ourselves in truly dangerous and stressful situations.

I'm sorry all that happened. Hind sight is almost always 20/20.

Unlike my unoperated eye! It's funny but I've been in truly dangerous situations before. I do what I did-- just get through it. Still, my brain went into overdrive afterward.

I'm glad you made it ok!
Things can go wrong in the blink of an eye. And catastrophe follows.
