The past couple of weeks and animals...

The past couple of weeks have been a blur, in all honesty. How it got to be December 22nd, I have no idea. I mean, seriously. I took my final in my Counseling Theories class on December 4th. That's 3 weeks ago this coming Monday already. Which means I only have 2 more weeks left of vacation, and I need to start reading about genograms (like a ( Read more... )

Yes, I read it! Wow, you must have gone to bed late! ;-) I hope all goes well and you find the cat's owner. I know exactly what you are talking about though. There are cats all over our neighborhood and I often see cats in my backyard. One time I was taking the dog out, and it was right after we got him so he was really tiny, about 4 lbs, and we were in the backyard and I looked up and about 2 feet away was a cat staring at Cash and he looked like he was about to attack. I immediately brought Cash inside...it scared the crap out of me!

I would seriously send you cookies if you gave me your address... Thank you for making it all the way through!

That's scary about the cat who looked like (s)he could've attacked Cash, especially since he was so little. I hope that he doesn't have any run-ins with any feral cats... They can be overprotective of their turft.

I hope you have a very Merry Christmas, and I'm serious about the cookies!

I hope you had a Merry Christmas!!! Here's my address: Karin Tungseth, 3256 Sheridan Ave. N., Mpls, 55412. Now you can see how ridiculously close we live. Maybe we should just meet up and eat some cookies. Hehe.

Karin: I promise I haven't forgotten to send you cookies. They won't be Christmas cookies anymore, but I promise you'll get some cookies:)

I read it too! I'm the same way you are about animals. I go to the pet store and Bemidji's no-kill shelter and pet the kitties and puppies.. and sometimes the other animals too. My friend from work has a second job at a Pet store and she said that so many people come in asking if they can keep their pet because it's annoying them.. makes me angry!

That said, give all your kitties (Sam included) a hug from me! and *hugs* for you too!

And I'll send you some cookies too. I already have your address! They probably won't be Christmas cookies, since you're at home, and I only have your school address, and won't send them until you get back to school, but you'll be getting something yummy in January!

I will definitely hug all my animals. I know that in a couple of situations with our cats (Bob, Charlie, and perhaps Sam) we've saved lives because we took them in. However, the love and affection we get in return more than makes up for what we've done for them.

You're much braver than I am for going into the shelter to see the animals. I don't do that because I go away feeling terrible that I can't have them all and help them all. I have honestly decided that once I retire, I'm opening up an animal shelter, no-kill unless the animal is seriously ill or has bad behavior problems and can't be rehibilitated...

*big hugs* I hope you have a very Merry Christmas!
