This is perfect! I love Parker's confusion about real relationships, and Hardison's tragic ravine accident, and Hardison having no self-preservation instinct whatsoever.

I still feel sorry for Eliot, not getting to go fishing for real. There is nothing quite like it - though I doubt he will ever get Hardison to follow the "there's no talking in fishing" rule.

I like how this weaves into the episode. Nice job!

Hardison shakes his head slightly. “No, that’s not… We’re good. And, you know, happy. Right?” He glances at Eliot who nods his head in confirmation.

“Yeah, we are,” Eliot says. “We’re good.”

“And incredibly dysfunctional,” Sophie mutters.

“Wait,” Parker interjects, “this isn’t how normal relationships go?”

Sophie sighs resignedly.

The banter and their interactions fit in so well with the episode. This is an awesome fic. So much greatness but esp.:

“That was some crazy ninja shit you just pulled, man,” Hardison grins.
“Swinging around in trees like a monkey or something and still taking people out.”
“You just call me a monkey?” Eliot scowls.
Hardison instinctively takes a step back, but his smile doesn’t fade. “A ninja monkey.”

and

“Yeah, we are,” Eliot says. “We’re good.”

i'm glad you liked it! with a canon plot of them being handcuffed together i just wanted more eliot/hardison bickering / love.
