I think I'll be writing enough over the summer - did I mention that I want to get my substantive paper published?? And write a short time travel story for an anthology submission??

Yay for publishing substantive papers! I'm all for it. After all the work you put into it, you might as well. Even more yay for the time travel story. Sounds fun. If it runs, post a heads up so that we can check it out. :-)

5. Oof. Lately I haven't been doing much except study and write my term paper. So glad that's done. Now I'm on summer 'holiday' and playing guitar a lot (poorly, but improving) and currently visiting friends and family in Victoria. When I'm home, I hang out with my kitty, watch tv shows on my laptop, read novels, sometimes knit. Or I go out and spend time with friends. I'm hoping to incorporate some kind of regular exercise into my summer routine. Also, I need to find a job. Wish me luck!

Oh man, last year was my last real summer vacation. I'll have a little bit of that between the bar exam and starting my clerkship, but I already miss it. Good luck!! That sounds like a great way to spend a summer. I have a hard time exercising in the summer because it gets so hot that it's hard to find a comfortable, non-freakishly-early time to job.

What do I do all day? Well, the answer to that is kinda complicated...

Due to a lot of upheaval in my life recently, I'm kind of starting over at the moment. My bills are minimal, so I've been able to subsist on minimal income and devote a significant amount of my time to writing. But the manuscript I just spent six months-plus on has not yet proved a bestseller, and I've been trying a number of other projects, hoping something will click. My personal life is similarly in flux.

So the short answer is: At the moment I spend entirely too much of my day staring at a blank page on Final Draft or OpenOffice.

Glad to know I've almost reached "Real Person" status, however! Like Pinnocchio, I shall someday reach that lofty goal! :-D

That's funny (I mean, strange) in that I have another online friend doing much the same thing. He's in a fairly different situation than you, but you're both working really hard on your writing right now, and I find that completely fascinating. It sounds really hard to me, but I'm a little bit envious at the same time.

hee! It's very hard for me to see most people I know only online as Real People, but you and a few others come very close! I remember how totally surreal it was to meet Rov and discover that he is, in fact, a Real Person (a real SOMETHING person).
