Astoria; I Need A Vacation

Nov 26, 2013 12:34

His office was still buzzing with the latest Prophet article. Travis couldn't leave his desk with out somebody coming up to his, asking if he knew Lavender or any of the previous victims. That was the downside of being one of the youngest members of firm. Everyone assumed he knew what was going on in the world. Didn't they know Travis kept a much ( Read more... )

It was one of the rare occasions in which Astoria was not only awake and out of bed before the afternoon had started to lean into the evening, she was actually dressed, made up, and out of the house ( ... )

Travis had let himself zone out almost completely, enjoying the shift from his noisy office to the calm alley outside the bar. It took him a minute to get his bearings once he had been knocked into, cigarette balancing between his lips.

"Suppose I am?" he responded, noticing the stockings that peaked out from the bottom of her coat. Travis raised an eyebrow as he met her gaze. He had not been exacting this at all.

He looked behind, realizing that this alley was just connected to a dead end. Which, of course, could only mean one thing. Witch.

"Haven't you heard? Allies have just become much more dangerous. Good thing I was here or something terrible could have happened."

Not a Muggle, then. Astoria couldn't help the small burst of laughter that escaped her, a reaction that had become her typical response to anyone showing concern with regards to her supposed vulnerability or questioning the general safety of the environments she frequented.

"Believe me, sugar, I can take care of myself." She tipped her head up at him, her chin indicating the smoke between his lips. "Think you could spare one of those, though?"

"Oh, I never said you couldn't," he grinned, giving her a very obvious once over. She was much more braisen than Travis thought. Then again, the stockings and trench coat should have been a tip off.

Then he reached into his inside coat pocket and pulled out his pack. A long time ago he had charmed it to replenish the supply. Travis held it out for her.

"Help yourself. If you need a good spot to lean, I can attest to this wall," Travis told her, nodding over to the spot next to him.

"I certainly wouldn't want to make a liar out of you. By all means, whisk away," she smiled, forcibly taking her eyes away from where they had unwittingly settled on the smiling curve of his lips.

She shook her head back slightly, both to sweep back a strand of hair that had settled against her cheek following the dizzying twirl and to hopefully rattle some sense back into herself. Giggling was one thing. Getting those kinds of ideas without even having gotten the chance to toy with him properly, that was another. She had a reputation to maintain.

Travis brought them onto the dock and placed Astoria back down gently right next to his boat. A cool ocean breeze swept past them as he held out his hand to his guest.

"After you, my lady," he told her, nodding towards the boat gently swaying in the later afternoon tide. The waters seemed gentle today. It would be the perfect chance to take Astoria out for a while.

"I think I even have a cooler still stocked." It was charmed, of course, to keep his drinks constantly cold.

Astoria dipped and nodded her head in a mock sort of curtsy before taking his offered hand and hopping over the boat's railings, landing lightly on the wooden deck.

"And just when I thought this," she gestured generally to the boat, the sea, the shining sun, "couldn't get any better." The buzz of their previous cocktails had died down in the general excitment of the change of venue. More drinks were definitely in order if she hoped to keep any kind of cool in the face of this surprising man's growing charms.

"Oh, it keeps getting better," he promised her and winked. Travis untied the boat from the dock and pushed off slightly, hoping on in one swift motion.

It felt good to be back on "The Amanda". There was something about being off land that always changed Travis, made him calmer. He smiled over at Astoria as the boat drifted out into the open water.

"Now,the tour!" Travis rubbed his hands together, wiggling his eye brows. "Cooler is over here....steering wheel over there. Tanning a few steps to your left and there's a bathroom and sitting area down below."

The boat was a pretty good side but Travis realized, giving a tour without even moving, that maybe a boat didn't need a tour.

Astoria shivered against the sudden coolness of the ocean breeze on her bare skin - surely the goose bumps that crawled across her skin had nothing to do with the way his fingers so tauntingly brushed against her, or the way his hips met hers with increasing force.

She trailed her hands back down his chest to his stomach, down to the waistband of his annoyingly-in-the-way board shorts. She teasingly tucked her fingers just a fraction of an inch under the edge of the fabric as she dipped away from his lips, working her way kissing and biting across his jaw and down his neck.

She sent shivers up and down his spine, causing his breath to catch. Her fingers brushed against his skin, just inches from growing hardness.

"Don't...tease me," he breathed, hands running through her dark hair, sweeping it from her face. Travis dipped his head back, closing his eyes.

Astoria nipped sharply at the skin of his neck in response, worked her way back up to tug at his earlobe with her teeth.

"Sugar, you have no idea what teasing is," she whispered, lips brushing just past his ear. She untucked her fingers and splayed her hands out against his stomach, rolling her hips down against his.

"You're killing me," he groaned, leaning in to place kisses over her collar bone. Her skin was sweet and subtle. Lips trailed down her skin as his hand came up to cup her right breast. Travis's tongue found her left nipple, slow and teasing trailing around her delicate skin.
