you know what dude? i'm basically going out of my mind to get into the whole singer/songwriter shit. i swear, i want to turn into Paul fucking Simon. So, um, I need some sort of recording device. i got this mic for my ipod, but it's shit and it doesn't even work, so i need some sort of personal, decent-sounding recording device so i can satiate my need in private. any ideas? Oh, have you talked to eric yet?

If you want a good recording, definately look into getting an interface of some sort for your computer. I have a firewire interface that is really fast, but my computer is broke. Also a large diaphram or a double large diaphram condenser microphone is a must. They are good for vocals and acoustic strings. I'm not sure about pianos though. I'm guessing a pair of condensers could get you going pretty good. I dunno. What type of arrangement were you planning on doing? Piano, vocal? Piano, Guitar, Vocal?

Well, there's a fine line between a "good recording" and what I'm actually after. See, I want a good recording in the sense that static, outside noise, reverb, etc should be kept to a minimum, but not in the anal retentive, cd-quality sense. Basically I just want something decent that I can fool around with and maybe bang out a cd or two for my english class. I'd probably record piano, vocals, and guitar, but i don't know if i'd want to invest in specified equipment just yet. how pricey are we talking with all of these things?

Travo, when do you work? I've been waiting a week for your store to open so I can buy an amp so than I went in today and you weren't there but I'm not going to buy it from one of those other assholes, they're not my homeboys. They don't know my situation, they don't care about me having a case for my amp or whether or not I have a footswitch, they don't keep it real motherfucker! Sorry. Anyway, please work so I can buy that amp.
