Quickflix finally got the right disc to me. I now have seven Spooks discs, three of which are entirely redundant for me. The other four have episodes 5 to 10 and every special feature ever released for Spooks series 2. But right now, I am watching episode 5, and it is pretty good.

If you spend 25 pounds you get free shipping. So taking into account the dollar conversion, the removal of VAT etc I usually buy two TV seasons and 2 movies for around $35 Australian.
Season 5 Primeval turned up with both discs unseated. I reported it last night. This morning I was informed I can keep the damaged discs and a second set is already in the post free of charge. No costly return of goods to prove damage, no lengthy delays. Seriously, I am quite impressed with their pricing and service.
{Shrug} Something to consider as less hassle than netflix.

I do buy some series instead of getting them from Quickflix. Quickflix still comes out cheaper than purchasing in many cases. Coming from amazon.co.uk, Spooks is really borderline in that regard, and if I wanted to keep the discs it would certainly be the way to go.
Some series I buy from JB Hifi, which is often fairly cheap as long as you aren't looking for recent releases. In other cases, it isn't - Spooks is over $50 per season there, last I checked. I've avoided buying X-Files there for ages because it, too, is over $50 per season at JB Hifi. Then recently I happened to be in KMart for completely unrelated reasons, and noticed that X-Files is $25 per season there.
The soaring Aussie dollar has changed the balance recently, too. When I bought X-Files season 7 from KMart, it would have been marginally cheaper than Amazon, with immediate watchability and no shipping costs (no matter how little I purchased). Now, it is a few dollars more expensive from KMart.
Also, Quickflix gives me the option of watching the first couple of episodes of ( ... )

Actually, I should say that Quickflix is still cheaper than Amazon in this case. In other cases, that won't be so.
