Hm. Found a map program for Minecraft that only works on the command line. So, I did what any sensible person would do in that case, is find out the command to render the map I use the most, and save it in a .bat file. And then shortcut that to my rocketdock. I don't know if there is already a standard for 7 segment displays, and their 128 character states. However, the standard that I want defines not just how you get those characters (programming them in, I guess) but also how you read them. Yeah, I'm definitely looking into some kind of arduino or beagleboard type microprocessor to control all the inside of my little device. The smaller the better but I guess there are limits to how small something can be and work properly. Resources, though, are scarce. I don't really have any money right now.
