I think the kid was being a presumptuous jackass, because Kerry even acknowledged that he had forced his way to the front of the line to the mike, but that doesn't make the tasering okay. Yes, he took well over the time allotted to ask his questions. I think the police were justified in arresting him for disturbing the peace or disorderly conduct or whatever it was since when they tried to remove him, he not only made a scene, but also resisted in an almost comically obnoxious way. As for the felony charge, not so sure ( ... )

word up. and i absolutely agree about the non-lethal weapons. in fact, sadly, as we saw in boston when an emerson student was killed during a red sox celebration in 2004, non-lethal weapons sometimes end up being lethal.

that's the first time I've seen the entire clip of that, usually I just see the part with him getting tased so it definately makes more sense now. I think this guy was being an ass, but Kerry was answering his questions, so I don't see why the police made such a big deal out of it. And he is a complete idiot for struggling so much with them. But I don't think the police should have tasered him. There were sooo many cops, they could have easily taken him out of the room quickly, to remove him from the area so the Q&A can continue. It seems unjustified. Although, if this guy did hold up the ending, even if it was incorrect, to Harry Potter, then he deserves it.

Although, this video makes him seem so much more obnoxious, but still.

If you go back to pure psychology on this one, He was obviously in a state of shock that he would be under police attack [rent-a-cops' mind you] for a question, it is a natural fight or flight response. The kid was freaked the fudge out, especially with five huge guys, and woman police officer in his face the whole time wagging her finger at him. I'm sorry, but I couldn't imagine someone being calm or going limp in that situation. As passive as I am as a person, I couldn't imagine myself going limp in such a situation. Fact of the matter is, the officers probably harboured their own personal disagreements with statements that were made by the student. Especially the casual use of the term "blowjob" in front of the female cop [dare say, 'campus security']. Not that she doesn't use the term "cock-sucker" in reference to the "self- righteous rich kids" that attend the university semi-daily. I do feel that the officers over reacted to the extreme in the first place ( ... )
