home, "officially"- a journalistic musing

In a conversation with a close friend today the time of my officially being home was referred to..."when you are home...officially." It has gotten me thinking, where is my official home exactly? There's another side to the expat deal...

When you do go "home," it's never the same.

I still think almost daily about London, wonder if I'll ever manage to scrape together enough money to go back.

The e-mail address my LJ comment alerts are forwarded to is still a .uk e-mail, and I've been in the States for nearly 3 years.

I still look over the photos of the places I went, remember the things I did and the friends I made, and it's never easy. Even though I'm very much in love on this side of the Pond right now, I still want to go back.

By the way, I've been meaning to ask you about something I've wanted to do for years. Back in high school you didn't want to because you weren't too thrilled about film, but I was wondering if you'd let me produce "One By One Over the Fence" as a short film some time. I seem to remember it having a pretty brilliant script that would be easy to adapt to the screen.

Justin,
Thank you for thinking of me and my HS script once again, and complimenting me on remembering it as a "brilliant script" but I do not want it made into a short film for a number of personal reasons. Hm, I thought I'd have a lot more to say on this subject, but I guess I don't. I hope you are doing well and that you successfully find or write another script to make into a film in the near future :)
