Who: Demyx and Larxene
When: After the ship battle
Where: Oblivion cell
Rating: I'd give it a PG-13
Summary: Demyx has been taken aboard the Oblivion, and now Larxene has the oppurtunity to return all his kindness.

...Aha.

So yeah, she comes down for a little visit, verbally abuses the guy and...yeah.

Larxene’s return to the Oblivion had been somewhat uneventful. The ship battle had left most of the crew tired, and without a captain, the morale had fallen dramatically. No one was sure what to do, but Larxene wasn't about to think about it for very long. After all, she had just been returned from a dark cell, and her wrists were still feeling quite sore and tender. Though she was especially thankful to be able to sleep in an actual bed again. It was a forgotten luxury.

However, that didn't help her sudden onslaught of insomnia as the boat rocked over the waves. She tossed and turned, but couldn't seem to drift off to sleep. Irritated and tired, she tried reading, but still restlessly moved around in her bed. She needed out of this room, and now that she wasn't chained to anything, she could do just that. As she left the hold and walked out on deck, she noticed that nothing had changed since she left, which meant no one was working. Which probably meant that no one was watching the prisoner.

Which probably meant that Demyx was starving and freaking out.

She strolled back to the galley and grabbed some bread and a bit of cheese (not much as supplies were low, but enough), and a bit of fresh water. Making sure no one would see her, she slipped down into the prisoner cell.

The rather... unfortunate turn of events left a certain Demyx baffled beyond belief. The rain wasn't helping much as thunder bellowed and boomed as the wind made eerie noises outside the ship. In a word, Demyx was freaked. The chained confining him was metal and heavy and if he felt bad for Larxene's pain before... well, he really felt bad for her now. The chains were already starting to hurt him. Not that the mullet haired boy didn't know, but Larxene was one tough cookie.

The prisoner hugged his knees to his chest. It was so dark... and creepy. Creepier than the prisoner cell on the Phoenix - that he knew. The Phoenix's cell was actually somewhat well kept, where as this cell was crawling with spiders and covered in webs. Or ghosts. Demyx could swear this cell was haunted. In fact, it was entirely possible many might have died in the Oblivion's cell. He looked around him cautiously, somewhat trying to prepare himself for a possession of any kind. The rats weren't so bad, though. At least he had company that was among the living and wasn't poisonous in any way.

Another shriek of thunder greeted Demyx's ears and he jumped so far back, he hit the wall. A similar noise happened there after, but it turned out to be his growling stomach, which meant he was very hungry indeed. Maybe it was stupid to have held off eating until everybody had their fill on the Phoenix, there was no way anyone would share the last of their food with the prisoner on this ship.

Something was moving in the darkness and in that moment that Demyx noticed the figure, a scream so shrill and high pitched escaped his mouth, that it was impossible to note whether he had balls or not. And then, he recognized it.

"Oh, Larxene. It's only you."

Larxene blinked through the darkness, then put the food down on a nearby barrel. "Yes, little girl, it's me," she said snidely, reaching into her pocket and pulling out a pack of matches. Striking one, she lit a lantern, and the dark dungeon filled with a dull, smoky light. "Don't get your panties in a twist." She sauntered over, carrying the food and water. "So when exactly do you think you'll hit puberty?"

Demyx allowed enough time to catch his breath before he looked at Larxene again. He squinted when she lit the light, but he was instantly grateful for it. He also noticed the food she had brought right away. "I don't wear panties. Girls do. I am not a girl," He said, already trying to reach for the food that was inconveniently a few inches too far of his reach. "I already hit puberty, obviously - hey, didn't you say you weren't going to come down here?"

Larxene smirked down at the guy as he helplessly reached for the plate. She crossed her arms and sighed. "Not a girl, eh? Coulda fooled me with that yelp of yours," she said, picking up the plate and putting it on the floor next to Demyx. "And what I said before doesn't mean anything. I figured you'd be more annoying if you were starving so I decided to cut you some slack. You should be thankful." She walked over to a bench on the opposite wall, sitting and stretching her legs out.

Despite himself and Larxene, Demyx grinned widely before he grabbed the food and shoved it in his face. "Ya knbbo," he said through chewing ridiculously hard bread, "Dat yelp woulda scared avay the ebil, soul wanting spirits," he chewed some more as he simply stared at Larxene before swallowing. "I'm telling you. This place is crawling with dead people. I've got the heeby jeebies." He looked around the room again, wishing Larxene would sit closer to him. Not that Demyx wasn't tough enough to not be scared, but it would just be nice. "Thank you for coming." And that grin was back.

Larxene dully arched a brow. What the fuck was he babbling about? Dead people? She looked around, and seeing no bodies, she looked back. "Yeah, whatever," she brushed him off, leaning against the wall and crossing her legs. "Don't get used to it or anything. Unlike you I actually have work to do around here, so I can't very well play baby-sitter for you down here all the time." Her eyes slanted a bit as she smirked. "And don't go getting any wild ideas about escaping. Trying to seduce me will get you nowhere."

Reikaku Pyro: (( CEPT MAYBE LAID OH *hit* ))
Most Heinous DX: (( BWAHAHA ))
Reikaku Pyro: (( Sex town. Population: Demyx. ))

Demyx's grin subsided quickly and he leaned against the wall. "Oh come on. Like I'd actually try to - try to - you know." He made a gesture with his hands that attempted a suggestion of what he met, but it looked more like a bunny rabbit running away from a snake. Then he realized just how bold that was and quickly brought his hands to his side with a blush. "What work do you have to do? Isn't your captain gone?" He asked his second question with care. he had overheard angry voices and shouts earlier, portraying how enraged the crew was to have lost their captain for the time being.

"Like it matters if there's a captain or not. Stuff still has to get done," she said stiffly, letting her eyes roam around the hold. She had to admit, Phoenix had better digs. But being a prisoner sucks no matter where you are. Larxene turned back to Demyx, smiling a bit. "I like it much better on this side of the chains," she told him, smiling sweetly.

Demyx gaped at the girl sitting on the other side of the room. He closed his mouth after a bit and brought his knees up to his chin again. "That's so not fair! I didn't gloat like you."

She shrugged with a light laugh, amused at his shock. "I honestly don't know why you're surprised. Did our conversations give you no clue as to what I'm like?" Larxene said, resting her chin in her palm as she leaned forward. "Really, Demyx. Are you that dense?"

Demyx sighed as he slumped his shoulders. "Wishful thinking, I guess." He pouted slightly. "I wasn't surprised or anything." Biting his lip, he held his head up confidently. "You might as well enjoy what time you have with me though - any moment now, Xigbar's gonna rescue me."

A few moments passed.

Maybe a little more than a few.

"... Oh, yeah. You'll see."

"Xigbar?" Larxene repeated, eyebrow arched. "That old coot? Your knight in shining armor?" She paused for a minute, before breaking out in hysterical laughter. "Oh that's a good one! What's he going to do? BEAT us all with his CANE?"

Reikaku Pyro: (( ....Xigbar ain't gonna like that much. ))
Most Heinous DX: (( ...not at all. ))

Demyx tried to keep a straight face. He really did. After all, it was important to show off how tough Xigbar was in a situation like this. ...But it couldn't be done. Demyx had his fair share of old jokes for Xigbar, but none of them compared to how glorious Larxene's were. Not a second past before Demyx burst into laughter. "... AHAHAHAHAHAHA YEAH YEAH! HAHA, AND HIS TEETH!"

"Probably made of wood!" Larxene pointed out almost rolling with laughter. "Yeah, Demyx. I'm really scared of Old Man River busting in here to save your sorry ass. That's assuming he doesn't get distracted by a game of shuffleboard on his way here."

Demyx was literally rolling on the dirty floor with laughter. "HAHAHAHA. Or assuming he needs to make a quick stop for a DAIPER CHANGE!"

Larxene doubled over, her knees against her chest as she gasped for air. Why Demyx was making these jokes about the guy he thought would save his sorry butt was beyond her, but she wasn't about to pass up an oppurtunity to mock the geezer. "He'd probably fall down the stairs down here and break a hip or something! Some valiant hero!"

Demyx felt tears in his eyes as his laughter persisted. He had no new joke to shout out, and if he did he was in no position to talk anyway. He gripped his stomach which was beginning to feel the burn of too much laughter. "Haha... aaaahaha." He wiped a tear from his eye as he tried to calm down and catch his breath. "Oh, that's rich," he wheezed, still giving in to spurts of laughter. "I miss him, " he said suddenly, confused as he was about the whole Xigbar situation. Considering the guy recently came back and acted as though he had only been on vacation.

Larxene sighed as she ended her own bout of laughter, looking at Demyx with teary eyes. Why was he suddenly so solemn? Then she remembered one of their conversations. One that involved his love life. She blinked. "Wait. So Xigbar was the guy you were all angsty over?" Larxene asked.

Demyx blinked, softly glancing at the metal clasping his wrists. "Yeah... I guess." Only Demyx could pull a complete 180 from mood to mood and not be PMSing at the same time. Because, well, he was a boy. "I mean yes." He glanced up at Larxene. "He just got back from visiting his wife and kids." He scratched the back of his head. "Said the ship wasn't there when he got back to the dock."

"...." Larxene could only manage to blink a minute. She remembered the guy mention kids, but hey. Pirates got around. She didn't really expect a family. "Wait, hold on," she held up her hands, shaking her head. "You got involved with a dude that has a wife and kids?" she asked. Pausing, she pointed at him casually. "You little hussy."

Demyx snapped right out of his trance as he landed his incredibly wide eyes on Larxene. "Come on! Give me some credit!" A few moments of silence passed. "He didn't tell me until we uh. Well." Blush. "Apparently he has some pact with his wife. He's allowed to sleep around while she sleeps around and takes care of this kids. I don't know."

".............." Larxene simply stared. Straight-laced little Demyx sat before her, and she could only stare in awe at what he was telling her. "You hooked up with a swinger?!" she gaped, laughing slightly. "Oh this is too good!"

Demyx frowned, but for some reason, bringing up the fact that Xigbar was a swinger didn't upset him as much. Maybe it was the way Larxene approached the matter. "It's not good!" He defended anyway. "It kinda sucks, actually."

"Well, of course it sucks," Larxene responded matter-of-factly, standing up and putting her hands on her hips. "But who exactly do you have to blame but yourself? You got involved with a guy who made it quite clear that he likes to sleep around and keep his butt as far away from real commitment as possible. And then you whine when he just takes off without a word?" she strolled over, looking down at him. "You're even stupider than I thought! Exactly how gullible are you?"

Demyx blinked. There Larxene went with her dazzling way of shoving the cold, hard truth down your throat. "Well, I don't think he's that bad. I think he's committed to me the right amount." She was just confusing Demyx though. After going through a slight phase of trying to forget the man and now struggling with whether or not to trust him... it was very hard not to believe what Larxene had just said. "I'm not... gullible, because there's nothing to be gullible about!"

"Oh really now?" she arched a brow thoughtfully at him. "Face it, Demyx, in this situation, you're what I would call the 'other woman,' and that's never a good place to be," Larxene told him sternly. "That's why he didn't tell you why he was leaving, because he knows you'll give him what he wants when he gets back. He's clearly just using you, and you're letting him."

Okay, now that stung. Definitely left a wound of some kind. Demyx was quiet for a very long time, not sure how to express what he was feeling. Larxene had just stated what he had always feared and now it seemed so obvious to him. But sadness wasn't the strongest emotion he was feeling at the moment - it was anger. He clenched his jaw. "The 'other woman', huh?" He asked, his voice unusually dark.

She felt a pang of sympathy, but not enough to stop her from verbally beating some sense into the twit. "The fact that you knew about it makes it even worse. Tell me, do you have any sort of self-esteem at all? Or do you like being someone's toy? I'm curious."

The anger caused by the realization increased ten fold and Demyx leapt to his feet with a glare colder than ice. He wasn't about to have a tantrum or an angry outburst, but this was his way of expressing what he was feeling at that moment. However, the feeling left as quickly as it had come as the chains pulled him back like a rubber band and he plopped to the floor again. He brought a hand to his forehand warily. "I don't want to believe you," He said, "But you're right. I've never heard anyone be so right." He tried to give her a lopsided grin, but it failed miserably. He sighed. "I don't like being... played with."

Larxene watched him, her eyes cold. She didn't even flinch when Demyx leapt up at her. She simply looked as he went from rage to frustration to exhaustion. Much as she liked being right, something in his voice made her cringe a little. After a moment, her eyes softened, but she looked away to hide it. "No one does," she finally spoke after a long silence, her voice dramatically softer than the harsh tone she'd spoken in before.

"......." Demyx didn't want to think about it anymore. He didn't have to. He'd talk to Xigbar about the whole thing when the time arose. Or if he was ever rescued. "I'm sorry that I jumped at you," he scratched his head, "...and stuff."

Larxene looked back at him with a sigh. The choppy waves made the ship rock awkwardly, so she opted to sit down next to Demyx, leaning back against the wall. "Well, what exactly were you going to do even if you could stand? Dumb me to death?" she said with a shrug. "Like you could really take me." She felt a bit of a smile pull at her lips, and she looked at Demyx slyly.

Demyx managed that nervous laugh of his. "No, really, heh. I don't know what came over me." He was grateful that she came to sit closer to him so the spirits wouldn't possess him. MAYBE THAT WAS IT. Or not. He leaned his head against the wall behind him as he glanced at her.

"Maybe you suddenly got some testicles. That'd be nice for you," she said, still smirking as she brought her green eyes to his, bright with amusement. "Not that they'd help you in a fight against me but..."

Demyx shook his head. "I don't think anyone has a chance against you. I think - I think Davey Jones would piss out the whole ocean before trying to fight against you." He said this in all seriousness, his eyes wide with belief and fear of her possible wrath as they locked with hers.

Larxene couldn't help but smirk, and she lowered her head, keeping her eyes locked with his. "Looks like you're catching on after all," she said in a dark tone.

At that odd and peculiar moment, Demyx felt his heart skip a beat. That look Larxene had in her eye - it was.... It was reminding him of what happened that first night he went to visit Larxene's cell back on the Phoenix. He could feel warmth coming to his cheeks, but he didn't dare break their eye contact. If he did, Larxene would notice something was wrong, and then she would never leave him alone. But if he kept looking at her...

"...." Larxene was surprised he didn't piss himself or something. He had this strange, distant look in his eye, and she blinked, her smile fading, but only slightly. "What?" she asked, relaxing a bit. "You're not going to...get seasick or something are you?"

Demyx blinked. Did he LOOK seasick? He flushed again, oddly embarrassed and paranoid about his appearance. That was strange. "No... I'm not seasick," he said, feeling his palms start to sweat. This feeling - this attraction or infatuation if that's what it was - did not help Demyx's current situation at all. It just left him more confused with a capital C. He gulped.

"...huh," she responded, arching a brow as she leaned over to look at him. If it wasn't seasickness, then it could only be one other thing. And well, it would be a waste to let Demyx off the hook. Smirking devilishly, she turned towards him, placing a finger under his chin and pushing up slightly. "Then what is it? You wanna kiss me or something?" she asked playfully, tone dark and sultry.

That was... whatever Larxene was doing - it was intoxicating. He was definitely blushing now and he was afraid Larxene might just feel how warm his face felt as she put her finger under his chin. No, his temples were sweating and it was below freezing in the cell - he knew Larxene could feel how warm his face was. He didn't want to embarrass himself any further, but then it happened. He couldn't stop it.

Demyx answered Larxene's question with the kiss it implied, but probably in no way actually meant.

And that assumption was correct. It was like a tornado hitting an unfortunate trailer park, though with more surprise and less property damage. Demyx's lips collided with Larxene's, and her smug smile and attitude shattered at the contact. Blinking her eyes wide, she squeaked a slight protest, but found herself unable to pull away. This was different...the ship didn't cause this. Blinking, she hung there, feeling his warmth in the cold cell, paralyzed.

Demyx didn't pull away as fast as he could. In fact, he couldn't stop now that he had started. Gradually, his hand made it to her cheek, engulfing himself in the sweet sensation. At this rate, he wasn't going to pull away until she pushed or shoved him off.

Larxene felt the hand touch her cheek, and what was happening to her finally registered. She jerked back, and her head hit the wall, eyes wide. She felt a chill from the room's cold air, and she shivered slightly, though it crossed her mind that the shiver may have come from the sensation that Demyx had given her, but she pushed that thought to the back of her mind. Now she just stared at Demyx, her mind racing, and heart beating in her chest, much as she hated to admit it.

Demyx had toppled over slightly as she jerked away, catching himself with his hands. After a few moments of calculating what had just happened, Demyx froze where he was, take away the instant he dared to glance up and face the wrath that even Davey Jones would not face. "...I'm sorry," he said, ready to panic and flail. Well, he'd flail if he didn't have chains constricting him.

Larxene's mind felt completely blank as she looked at him for some sort of explanation. He kept apologizing, but these things kept happening to them. And for some reason...she didn't want to kill him. In fact before she could even think about it, her body moved, bringing his lips back to hers much more fiercely than he had dared to do to her. Despite how dumb she knew this was, and what she would have to deal with later on, she pushed, finding she couldn't seem to keep from pushing her fingers into his hair and pulling him closer.

Well. Demyx had NOT expected that, and it was obviously so as he thought he tasted a bit of blood on his lips as the cause of Larxene's forceful gesture. He muffled a bit of a whine before he forgot his lip was injured all together. Larxene was doing this to him and he knew this wasn't some trap. Larxene had no use to seduce him again other than for the simple fact that she actually wanted to seduce him. Demyx didn't want to believe he was as gullible as Larxene had said, but he couldn't resist this at all. He gasped slightly when she pulled him closer, wishing he could fully put his arms around her. For now, he settled with getting as close to her as he possibly could.

It was funny. Seconds before Larxene was scolding him for being a toy, and now she was doing the same to him, but the beating heart in her chest wouldn't let her stop as she shifted, pushing Demyx back against the wall with her hand on his chest as she leaned into him, maintaining the heated kiss. However, he'd kissed her first. He wanted this. She knew that much. That was proven by how he tried to move against her, getting their bodies closer. She broke the kiss finally, panting a bit, her lips hovering inches over his.

Demyx struggled to catch he breath when she broke the kiss, unable to process when exactly he had been pushed against the wall. Whatever the case is was definitely hot enjoyable. He leaned in slightly to give her lips a tender peck before pulling back to look into her eyes. He bit his lip nervously before working up the nerve to say something. "... Wow." Was all he had to say.

Larxene blinked, and as her breathing slowed down, she swallowed a bit, forcing herself to calm. "...." she looked it his eyes curiously. Now that that was out of her system, she had some questions. "Why did you do that?" she asked, keeping him pinned against the wall...just in case she didn't like his answer.

And here is was. The moment of truth. ...Unfortunately, Demyx had no idea what gave him the nerve to kiss her in the first place, but he did know one thing. And he wasn't sure if he wanted to admit it. "Err - well," he felt Larxene keep him were he was, and that.... morbidly made him want to kiss her again. "I couldn't stop myself. I - you were - and then..." He took a moment to breathe as his eyes avoided Larxene's. "Maybe I like you. Kinda. You know."

"...." she studied his face intently, suddenly forcing his chin up and bringing his eyes to hers. "You wanna look me in the eye and say that, mullet-boy?" Larxene told him sternly.

Demyx seemed caught like a deer in headlights. "I - I like you," he managed without breaking his glance. Then reality started to fill his thoughts. "My god, I really do like you." He brought a cuffed hand to his forehead. "But I still - uh..." It was probably smart he didn't finish that. "Would you hit me if I told you that you... look really pretty right now?"

Suddenly, Larxene's expression was the mirror image of Demyx's. Pretty? What the hell was he talking about? Just how crazy WAS he? As he mind raced she finally felt a warmth spread across her cheeks, and she noticed how she was leaning against him. Her heart was POUNDING. This was INSANITY. "I would," she said slowly, voice low. ...If you could MOVE, her mind screamed but found herself unable to say it out loud. "You just don't learn, do you?"

"I... guess not," Demyx answered, somewhat picking up that she had no intention of moving or making the effort to hit him just yet. He attempted to brush away a strand of hair that had fallen in her face, but he was unable to do so without avoiding the loud clanking of his cuffs. Then, he kissed her again, unable to hold back in any way like he had the first time. Then, he forced himself to pull away. "Wait. ...Wait," he told Larxene, but he needed to tell himself too.

Larxene blinked her eyes open slowly. "Wait for what?" she asked, slowly pulling away. "You got something else to tell me?" Waiting she looked at him, hands feeling shaken from all this....strangeness she found herself involved in.

"This..." As much as Demyx didn't want to say it, they couldn't just ignore the consequences of what they were doing. "This isn't right. You said..." He kissed her cheek, then her lips softly. "You said you had someone here, didn't you?"

"...." Larxene arched a brow. "Someone?" Suddenly it hit her. Oh. Right. That. She rolled her eyes and leaned back against the ship's wall, freeing Demyx. "That?" she said thoughtfully. "I don't want to think about that, alright?" It was all a mess anyway. She had no idea what Irvine thought anymore. When she talked about him before, she just wanted to freak the kid out a little...but in reality she had no idea. But this allowed her to clear her mind enough to figure something out. "But know something. What just happened here....don't expect it again," she told him sternly, looking back over.

All the color in Demyx's face seemed to falter. "What? Why?" He asked without thinking. Without thinking of whoever it was that Larxene had, or without thinking of Xigbar. He didn't want to just yet, even though he had just brought these important issues up. He reached for her cheek again, wanting another kiss.

She batted his hand away. "Mistake," Larxene told him quickly. "You're dreaming. Nothing's going to change." Her matter-of-fact tone and stern green eyes made that clear. "It's better."

Demyx didn't want it to, but as true as her statement was, it hurt just as much. "... Right." He tried to agree. "You're right." He definitely couldn't look at her now. Great. Now he was in more of a mess.

She smirked, pulling herself to her feet and walking in front of him, her heels clicking against the wooden floor. "You'd be better off with the swinger than me, kid," she told him. "Consider this a gift," and with that she turned to leave, but found herself stopping at the door and looking back at him over her shoulder.

He didn't want her to go just yet, but there was nothing Demyx couldn't do to stop her. He couldn't even bring himself to look at her as she left. The room was colder now. It was creepier. Somewhat returning to being freaked, Demyx curled up and lay down to gather warmth as best he could. He didn't suspect Larxene would ever come down against and the thought left him feeling a bit empty.

Larxene watched him, and shook her head. She walked out of the room, only to return a few moments later and throw a blanket over at Demyx, watching it fall on his head. "Don't be such a wuss," she ordered. "I hate guys that can't take a bit of a challenge." And with that, she closed the door to his cell, and started back to her room, wondering just what the hell had come over her and how she could stop it from happening again.

Demyx blinked and turned to say something back to her, but Larxene had already left. He felt himself frown, but he held the blanket close around him. "Thank you..." He said it anyway, wanting her to hear it. After a few exhausting moments, sleep found him, and he was able to take a break from everything that was going on.

THE END.
