Jeesuz, it's 3 a.m. and my head is still throbbing. This morning was one of those days where you wake up and can't remember how you got home let alone made it to your bed. I stumbled over to my computer and ended up reading a pretty funny entry on gawker.com about last night. It really wasn't that far off. Upstairs, the club was way over capacity,

i read that gawker entry too and i was like... aww man!

what was your setlist? and what other records did you bring?

mal!!! well, because it took so long to get people downstairs and dancing, i totally followed the crowd's cue. (well it was a small crowd.) cue. early on, i was playing a certain ratio, laid back, clash, !!!, basically funky post-punk. i wanted to break it up with a little bit of '70s punk, but people seemed to be really into it, so i stayed there for a while with stuff like the damned, modern lovers, the ramones and then went all early mtv with kim wilde, cure, ,jam, etc. right when people finally started coming into the room, this small group of goth girls asked for "love will tear us a part." i had just played it like 10 minutes before, but since there was only 3 people at that point and now there were 30, i was like, ok, and put it on again.

I read that too, and thought "um...wait, am I one of those greasy hipsters?! NO!" I actually saw more expensive-shoe fancy-hair women than the greasy hipsters they spoke of. Oh well. You're doing the thing again tonight, right? I will more than likely be seeing you again and critiquing setlists!

yeah, i thought the "greasy hipster quotient" wasn't quite what they made it out to be either. so tonight we'll do it all over again though i think the g.h.q. might be a little higher though with secret machines playing and all. see you tonight!
