Well, it's been a while since I last wrote an entry...Saturday was of course the CAOS spring concert, and it actually went very well indeed. We had a rehearsal on Wednesday evening which went on for 3 hours, then on Thursday I did some piano practice and a bit of viola.

Hi! Thanks so much for letting me come and join in, and for being a great host :D I really enjoyed it...it's such an amazing feeling to be part of an orchestra. You were right, it really did all come together for the concert itself :D I'd love a copy of the recording when you get one.

I wish I was big enough to play a larger viola. If you ever fancy trying some out on approval, do look at the Gliga instruments sold by elidatrading.co.uk. They are amazing instruments for the price and I know they'll be happy to send you two or three to see how you and your teacher find them.

Hi Toni, can you remind me what Gliga yours is - a Gama or a Maestro? I've had a look on their site and the customer feedback is very good!

Mine is a Gama, the cheaper of the two Gama models, and it's 15". There isn't really any difference between the two Gamas in terms of sound though - the more expensive one has prettier wood. Apparently the best Gamas are as good as some of the Maestros, but they're not entirely made by Vasile Gliga himself. I know the lady who imports them (through the ABRSM forums) and she is really helpful and always willing to send them out if people want to try them.
