As disappointing as Nicki's official output has been, the critique has been worse. At least hardcore rap fans, even if they're kind of sexist about it, mostly just wanted to hear good rap from her and complain that they aren't.

But the intentional, contextualized, cultural criticism of Nicki Minaj has been appalling clueless. I guess it was the same on Obama's second week in office, when everyone got mad he didn't cure AIDS, war and racism yet.

Her job is not to carry women on her shoulders alone. Her job is rapped, and how she does that is up for commentary. That's all!
