im just being nosey and going through random chopper bike builders journals and seeing what i can see...chicago has shit going on and it makes me jealous as i seem to be the only chopper builder here in montreal...maybe one day if i spread enough choppers to people they will all ride them at once.
either way
im VERY much interested in your idea of the two threadless headsets. i know this is from far back and i THINK i know what your idea could be but id still be interested in hearing it
Well, basically you'd need to fab some lil' guys to keep the headsets adjusted, which would basically be like a seat post clamp with something for the "crown race" (which wouldn't really be a crown race anymore) to rest on/around.
We stock a Rans recumbent that uses one seatpost clamp to keep the headset adjusted and another one to clamp the stem to the handlebar, and when you're adjusting the headset you put them close together and tighten the top one while leaving the bottom one loose, and then you put something between them and pry them apart to give the headset proper tension and once you've got it right you tighten the lower one. Then you figure out where you want your handlebar and tighten the top one in the approrpriate place for that. You could do the same thing I think for the tallbike.
