I found out today that I have a job at Working bikes as a mechanic 20 hours a week. That isn't as much as I need to be working, but it's a start, and it's totally the fulfillment of whole tons of dreams I've had since I was like 16 or 17. I'm waaaaaaaay excited. In other news, Sarah is awesome. I just thought EVERYONE should know.

Wow. I didnt realize how negative I just was. Well, on the upside, almost every other person I met while I was at the shop was very cool and easy to get along with. Even my boss was cool a lot of the time, when he wasn't A) working or B) being The Boss. And the work itself is decent. Hopefully if you ever get/have to do any sales, you'll get commission.

NEVERMIND all that stuff I said. I just realized that's a Co-op! That should be very cool and it is for a noble cause! Sounds fantastic.

haha. I JUST saw these three responses. That's totally funny. I have since started to work at another shop an additional 20 hours a week, and I was anticipating alot of the suff you mentioned, but it's way more cool than I thought, and they're totally hookin' me up nice with discounted gear, which is good because the pay is shit. I'm only partly there for the pay though. It's totally all about the bike shop experience, 'cuz not many shops wanna hire Joe Schmoe off the street without some experience in a "real" shop.
