I want a simpler system of government ... I just can't imagine a system like that right now. Perhaps direct elections, snip some of this "judicial review" bullplop. Judges (in Roe vs. Wade) made the decision that abortion was legal -- it's not a law, it's an interpretation of the constitution. Bah!
My opinion: We're all screwed. I'm working on any way possible to get OUT of the country in the next few years. Just have yet to pick a destination and really sort out the details.
Yeah, but then I'd get the good jobs during the rebuilding. I'd get paid assloads becuase I'd be in harm's way, but I'd still know the area and the language. Or I'd just give an interview to all the media and let them know the TRUE story. Or write a book. Or just plain loot. Or, I could get blowed up. Any way you slice it, it's more exciting than slowly being raped by the politicians.

amen. today i felt especially disenfranchised. i just came to the realization that anybody i ever vote for only has their own fame and fortune in mind. well, that, and keeping enough "promises" to get re-elected. everytime they give us something good, there is a loophole big enough for them to barrel through. indeed...fuck politics.
november 2 feels like new years eve this year. its a big crazy party, but when we wake up the next morning, it will still be cold, and maybe we will get to see that the sky is still blue.
If it makes you feel any better, Kerry's wife is rich. And they have a prenuptial agreement. But in any event, I can't even imagine trying to choose between the two. I'm just thankful to live in a politically diverse country.
Yeah you're all so disenfrancised. Must be, with your internet access, meals, "ministries", ability to decide to choose your own way of life and living in a country where you actually have freedoms guaranteed to you by the constitution. don't get me wrong, the world (NOT JUST AMERICA) is totally screwed up. but that's nothing new. has it ever occurred to you that there are people in the world who have died trying to get to this country because here they can eat more than just rice soup? of course, they should be more enlightened and become vegans, once their systems have healed from years of malnutrition. the usa may be messed up, but its a hell of a lot better than most of the rest of the world.
Wowee you're mixing up tons of things here. First, we have a right to complain and no amount of starving Ethiopians can invalidate that right. Second, should we not complain? Just sit here and say "Well, we're mostly rich. Why bitch about the greedy lying bastards raping our country from the inside out?" Or "Well, I shouldn't complain about Bush erasing Iraq because I've got Coca-Cola and Friends is on"? Would you say to a starving citizen of a third-world country "Well, you shouldn't complain, really, because you still have the use of all your arms and legs ... not like all the invalids in the world

I found a zero-emissions vehicle (not counting production). I pedal it every day to work. Not meaning to argue with your post, I just don't understand why alternative transportation proponents always seem to think that we need to make cars with new technology instead of using cheap, simple, healthy technology we already have.
Not to be flippant, but a bicycle won't deliver a truckload of bicycle parts around the city. Nor will a bicycle transport firemen quickly to a blaze (local fires excepted), or carry enough water / supplies. Nor will a bicycle transport emergency patients to the hospital
