The 7th post of 2008.

Nearly April and I haven't even gotten close to my resolution to write once a day. I need to both purge stress and create something, even if it's just a post about how I need to post. I did find out I haven't published some of the entries I've written so it's not as bad as it looks, but still ( Read more... )

I didn't like The Time Traveler's Wife either. Or The Lovely Bones. BLAH.

I avoided that one because I thought it was another Oprah book. And the idea of a dismembered elbow is unique but seems so impossible that that would bother me throughout the book. I'm like the type of person who would get hung up on things like that.

Btw, how are you? :DDD I'm going to be living in Alameda again this summer, so this time, for sure, we have to eat at Sushi House if you come up to the Bay area at any point. (And you must! Because I fear for you, down there in the OC.)

I didn't know it was an Oprah book. That explains a lot.

I fear for myself down here as well. It's just so... so... OC! Plans to be up in the Bay Area for the summer are pending. Shall keep you updated! Are you working at Petco again?

Not sure if it is, but I thought it was. I don't remember where I got that idea, but doesn't it seem like the sort of plot she'd squeal over? I'm trying not to be a booksnob and turn down everything she likes...but I hate all these assholes that she's unleashing upon the world. Thankfully Rachel Rey's gone. And I still resent that whole thing she did with James Frey. "You embarrassed me! How could you do this to me?" Wha?

I shall never work for a large retail store again, unless it is something like Kinokuniya ('cause that'd be awesome). I'm hoping to do more of that wildlife rehab work though.

But now I want to work for Kinokuniya. Move up and join me there? :D Good luck with escaping. ;o;

I've been thinking about reading "Everything is Illuminated" but I was considering being lazy and watching the movie. Or should I know something about the movie? :O

I think you'd like "The Unbearable Lightness of Being," for serious. It's about lovers but it's also about...crap, I can't describe it without making it sound lame, but it's also about the different attitudes we adopt when we live our lives, as escapists or sensualists or pragmatists or whatever.

Eee. Try it anyway.
