He was leaning back against the back half of the boat. Nathan had insisting on driving the boat, so Lucas agreed and leaned back and watched the scenery. He laughed when Nathan mentioned Haley. He knew his younger brother by three months couldn't help it, but he had to pick on him. It was hard to not think of Peyton. He missed her. He didn't think he would, truly, miss her this much. It was nice, being out here with Nathan, spending time just the two of them, but he knew he would like to be back in Tree Hill, with Peyton.
"What do you say we head back early?"
He pushed the sunglasses over his head as he watched Nathan carefully for a long moment. "You know, surprise the girls. I'm getting sick of looking at just you." He laughed.
Nate sat up, rolling this thought around in his head. He knew the girls were planning some sort of girls-night/slumber party that night - it might be fun to crash in on them.
