With a confident voice he replied "Hi, I tried calling earlier about being your roommate. I just need a place to crash in Tree Hill."
The voice on the other line cleared his voice and started to speak up, but then Chris cut him off, and like all men in the entertainment business he brought up the issue of money. "I'll pay $500 more than your original asking price, I can pay for it. If you need more money I got it. I really need a place to stay."

"Yeah, like I said, I just need a place to crash for a little while," Jake heard the voice respond, bringing him out of his thoughts.
"Well, if you want, you can stop by tonight--or tomorrow--whatever suits your schedule," Jake offered. He glanced over at Jenny, who had been in a fit of laughter from the faces that Brooke and Peyton had been making in order to entertain her. Then, a thought struck his mind. "By the way, what's your name?"

Although he tried his best not to come across cocky, it was just like his mouth tooked over. "I'm the one and only Chris Keller. And you're probably wondering why a guy like me would offer $500 more dollars? Well since we've established my name, go on ahead and ask me your next question."

"Look, how about we just go through this interview process later?" Jake asked, somewhat irritated by Chris' tone.
"Keller's available for a limited time only," he heard the egotistical voice reply. Jake furrowed his brow. Did he just refer to himself in the third person?
"Um, how about 7:00 tonight?"
