AIM RP Thread// Dan & Haley; An Unexpected visit.
JustHaley23: It has been a day since Haley has been out of the hospital. Little did Dan know, she was doing fine and all right. Ever since writing her journal entry, she'd been thinking about Dan and how he was doing. She knew everything he had done for her and Nathan and felt like she needed to thank him. Nathan was gone now, probably for a few hours so it gave her time. Her plans were to go and see Dan at the county jail. Manuvering around the apartment slowly, she finally made it to the jail house. She asked ot see the mayor Dan Scott and they helped her in the room. Little did Dan know, she was there for him.
danscottmotors33: After Keith's visit - well, so to speak - Dan had made refused to see visitors. Except his lawyer and his son of course. It's not like he had millions of visitors anyway but he couldn't bare talking to anyone from the town hall and he could not face Karen, who had asked to come over a couple of times but never did since Dan had told her not to. He wanted to see her, but the guilt and memory of Keith were just too much. He was better off alone anyway, trying to figure out a way of getting out of that miserable place. Still, today, it seemed that someone was insisting - like really insisting - to see him. At first Dan had told the guard to go to hell, as always, but after he told Dan that having a pregnant wife waiting was definitly not something to do, Dan thought maybe Karen had come over after all and he just couldn't let her go without seeing her. When he entered the room though, his eyes went wide with surprise.
JustHaley23: "Thank you." Haley said, looking at the guard as he walked away. Haley looked down and kept her balance then looked up to see Dan Scott sitting behind the glass. He looked so- what was the word, helpless? Haley hobbled over to the chair with her crutches and sat down and looked at Dan before picking up the phone and holding it to her ear.
danscottmotors33: Dan took a couple of minutes because picking up the phone, just watching her. She was physically crushed. Sure her bruises were mostly healed right now but seeing how she was a couple of weeks after the accident just gave him an idea of how she must have been right after the accident. Seeing her eyeing him strangely, he finally picked up the phone, talking as gently as he could. "Hi Haley. It's good to see you on your feet."
JustHaley23: "Hello, Mr. Scott" She said softly and slowly. She took a deep breath. "Actually, I'm not really supposed to be." She told him, watching his expression. "I'm supposed to be at home, resting."
danscottmotors33: "I'm sure you should. Why... What are you doing here? Is Nathan waiting for you outside?" He was confused. Why did Haley came all the way down here to see him? Was there something wrong with Nathan? The baby? He didn't even know she had been released from the hospital, since Nathan hadn't visited him in about two weeks.
JustHaley23: Haley shook her head at a confused Dan. "No, Nathan isn't waiting outside. He doesn't know I'm here." She told him, talking as steadily as she could to him. Haley took another breath before speaking. " I came down here to see you because I know what you did." She said softly, seeing the look on his face.
danscottmotors33: "What I did?!" For the nth time since Keith's death, Dan had to make his best to hide the fear from his eyes. Fear that someone could know about his dirtiest secret. And god knows he had some dirty secrets. So he put on his implacable face and famous Scott smirk. "And what did I do this time?"
JustHaley23: As much as he tried to hide it, she could see the fear he had in his eyes. "Nathan told me all about it." Haley started. "The night of the accident. You took the blame for killing Daunte." She said quietly.
danscottmotors33: So that was it. For a moment, he thought there was more to it. "It's okay Haley, I already told Nathan that I know what I'm doing. I have good lawayers that will get me out of here in no time, and you need Nathan by your side." He smiled lightly. "By the way, if Nathan told you everything, why are you making such a secret of all this and why isn't Nathan with you?"
JustHaley23: Haley sighed a little bit while looking at Dan. She switched hands holding the phone. "Because I know he wouldn't of wanted me to come down here and talk to you and tell you what I have to say." She told him. "He's been so protective. If he found out I came by myself, He would over react and get worried." She said in a sad voice. "He's been through enough all ready. He doesn't need anymore pain." She said openly to him.
danscottmotors33: "Well you know Nathan would have a right to be pissed. You came over here on your own, in your condition, without telling him. It wasn't your smartest move. I'm sure Nathan would have let you come over here if you had asked so let me ask it again: why did you come here?" This maybe was a bit rude knowing all the pain she had been through to come and see him but knowing they didn't have the whole afternoon, better go straight to the point.
JustHaley23: Haley looked up at him as the bitterness shown through his tone. " I wanted to say thank you..." She said cautiously. "For doing what you did....you didn't have to do it. You could of let Nathan take the blame.. but you didn't." Some tears starting coming to her eyes as she spoke. She didn't want to cry infront of Nathan's father so she sniffled and tried ot hold them back. "Nathan wouldn't have been able to be by my side at the hospital if it wasn't for you." She told him sincerely. She was being honest but she felt bad that Dan was in here for something he didn't do. At the same time, she felt grateful.
danscottmotors33: He knew Haley wanted to cry, her eyes were red and shining already. "It's okay Haley. Like I told you and like I told Nathan already, that was the right thing to do. I know it sounds surprising coming for me, but I want to make things right. For once." He tilted his head, closing his eyes for a moment before adding. "I know how much Nathan loves you, and it's obvious to see he loves that baby already, so he had to be by your side.I wanted him to be." No need to add that by taking the blame for Daunte's murder, he was desperatly hoping to get rid of the guilt for his brother's murder.
JustHaley23: Haley's eyes twinkled a little bit fmor her tears and she smiled a little. She knew he was trying and she was glad. "I'm really grateful, Mr. Scott. I am." She said softly. She let out a soft laugh. "You're right. Nathan is so in love with this baby... I can feel it. He even wants to start shopping for him..." She smiled a real smile that she hadn't done in days.
danscottmotors33: Dan smiled too, the thought of his son running around a baby clothes shop coming to his head. "I remember Deb was trying to get me shopping for Nathan because he was born and all I wanted to do was to run away and play ball." Haley's smile grew wider and Dan was happy to see it. "By the way, congratulations. Nathan told me you're having a boy. Although I'm not that surprised, Scott guys only make boys." He winked at her.
JustHaley23: Haley let out a laugh. " I think secretly, Nathan wanted a girl" She teased and laughed. "But, either way, I'm just thankful that this baby is all right." She smiled. " I know I told you, I didn't want you any where near our child, but we owe it to you and our son needs to know his grandfather."
danscottmotors33: It was Dan's turn to feel teary. "Thank you Haley. It really means a lot to me. I'm glad that you and Nathan are letting me into your life, and your future son's life too." He looked around him for a while. "I won't stay here for long, so as soon as I'm out, know that you can ask me anything. I will financially help you this time." He smiled to her one last time, and feeling the guard's eyes on him, he added. "Maybe you should go now. In your condition this trip will be quite exhausting and I'm sure the doctor told you to rest".
JustHaley23: Haley nodded and agreed. "Thank you, so much, Mr. Scott. It means alot." Haley saw the guards go next to Dan. " I will be on my way now." SHe got up and got to her crutches. "Oh, and Mr. Scott.. don't tell Nathan I was here." She asked softly, then hung up the phone and started to walk away on her crutches and out the door.
