AIM RP Thead// Nathan, Haley & Peyton; When it all collapses
hotterscottbro: Nathan was sitting next to Haley in her hospital room. He hadn't left the room since the night before when Peyton came to visit Haley although he didn't really mind being cooped up, he just wished he could give Haley some news on Lucas' condition.
just haley 23: Haley had been sleeping most of the day. The night before, Haley's breathing was getting better but during the night, somehow she started gasping more for air and it seemed to go back to how it was, if not worse.
just haley 23: All her muscles were relaxed and numb due to the medication the doctors had put her on to help dull the pain she was in. They still didn't know exactly what was wrong. Haley laid there breathing very weakly and as she was about to breath in more, she gasp for air in her sleep causing her to move but soon she fell back to sleep but not in her deep sleep she was in earlier.
podcast sawyer: Peyton had gone home for a short while at the insistance of Karen to take a shower, get changed, and do something to get her mind off of Lucas for a while. She did so despite her hesitation. While she was online checking her e-mail, she was instantly bombarded with an IM from Rachel, asking how Lucas was. She couldn't talk with her for long though because of the tears forming in her eyes. After taking a short shower and crying while she changed into some new clothes, she wiped her eyes and got into her car to drive back to the hospital.
hotterscottbro: Nathan watched Haley sleep, wishing he could do something to help her breathe better. He took this opportunity to go to the bathroom and splash some cold water on his face.
just haley 23: Finding it hard to go back to sleep, Haley had awoken from her slumber due to her gasping for air. She looked around and found that nobody was there. Her mind immediately fell on Lucas and this was the time she needed to see him. She needed to know that he was all right. She wasn't going to be satisfied until she held his hand and told him everything was going to be all right. Finding herself more weaker than she was before, She tried with all her strength and uncovered herself, unhooking the machines from her fragile body. Her chest hurt the worst than it did before but she knew she had to get up. She brought her fractured legs to the floor even though it was incruciating pain and tried to stand. She found it harder to breath as she stood but pushed forward and making her way towards the door. She leaned on the door, opening it and looking down the hallway. The coast was clear. She stepped out and made her way down the hallway. Taking a left, she leaned against the wall as her weak body was starting to shut down. She took one last breath before collapsing to the floor, her body crumbling as she fell.
podcast sawyer: Peyton drove to the hospital in her car, her sunglasses on. The fact that the sun was out didn't sit well with her, it was as though the sky should be as dark and gloomy as she felt. She pulled into a parking spot and got out of her car, not taking her sunglasses off even as she went into the hospital. She walked up the stairs to the floor Lucas was on, figuring she'd stop by to see Haley along the way.
hotterscottbro: Nathan came out of the bathroom to find Haley wasn't in her room. He started to freak out. Where was she? Had someone taken her to another room without telling him? He went out into the hall and looked around desperately. "Haley?" he called. No response. He took a chance and turned left, looking for her everywhere. He found her lying on the ground and he knelt next to her. "Haley?" he asked desperately, turning her around, trying to find out if she was still alive but he didn't know exactly how to tell.
just haley 23: Haley's weaken breath was barely taking it's toll. The fall had injured her more, causing her to come close to stop breathing. Her body was limp, there were so signs of consciousness and she was very pale.
hotterscottbro: "I need a doctor over here!" Nathan called, looking desperately around for a nurse or doctor. He didn't want to leave Haley's side
podcast sawyer: Peyton could hear Nathan's calls for a doctor as she neared Haley's room and she rushed towards the sound of his voice, taking off her sunglasses. "Nathan, what happened?" she asked, kneeling next to him.
hotterscottbro: "I-I don't know. I left her alone for a second and she must have come out here or something and collapsed and-" He looked at Peyton, "What if she's not okay?"
podcast sawyer: "Just... do what Haley keeps saying, think positively. Um... I'm going to find a doctor, I'll be right back," she said, standing back up and running to get a doctor. She came back a few minutes later with a male doctor and a stretcher. She pulled Nathan up and away from Haley as he started crying again. She knew how hard it was for him, she was going through the same uncertainty with Lucas.
hotterscottbro: Nathan watched helplessly as the doctor lifted Haley onto the stretcher and Peyton held him back. "I-Is she going to be okay?" he asked the doctor.
just haley 23:The doctor looked at a grief-stricken and worried Nathan. "She had a nasty fall, son. Right now, we're not sure. All we're worried about is getting her to the emergency room and checking on her immediatley" He said as he turned and quickly wheeled Haley down the hall and through the big double doors, slamming as the shut.
hotterscottbro: Nathan watched helplessly, not knowing what was going to happen to his wife or son. All he could do was wait.
podcast sawyer: Peyton held onto his arm, trying to comfort him despite her own worry for Haley, Haley and Nathan's son, and Lucas. It was all she could do to keep the phrase 'people always leave' out of her mind.
