Travis, these are some of the evocative photographs I've ever seen. I could feel my heart in my throat. My heart sits heavy now. It's so lonely and decrepit. Wow. Thank you.

hey i was just there like 2 weeks ago. I want to go back inside, where is there an entrance? last time I went they were all freshly boarded up (two years ago) but we used to be able to enter in a door right in that kitchen area. and the time I went recently, I didnt see anything open.
did you by any chance find the basement in the hospital, or rehab hospital?
The side of the rehab/hospital that faces the Phoenix House, it has staircase outside that leads below the first level... I don't recall if there was a door or plywood that someone could pry open.
places like these are destined to be occupied with paranormal activity. there's a place on long island called kings park, i've been there a few times. it's a lot like this - and creepy as fuck. it's a lot bigger though. it was a state psychiatric hospital.
I've heard of Kings Park before. I've also heard that cops are REALLY patrolling it. I've heard stories of cops actually hiding out in the bushes at night to find people. I've heard people are arrested fairly regularly there too.
On the other hand, I've also heard that it is a state park, so as long as you're there during the park hours, it is okay to wander the grounds, as long as you don't attempt to enter the buildings.
Also that large building(is it building 98?), the VERY tall one with the smoke stack by it, I've heard that only the first 4 floors of that building were ever even used.
I would LOVELOVELOVE to check out Kings Park one day, but I wouldn't want to travel that far and have an 80% chance of having an unpleasant run-in with the cops.
