They are all good choices for languages. Just so you know I learnt Japanese for many years and I loved it.

i've decided to hold back this year, but i'm pretty sure i'll be taking japanese next fall.
a couple of my friends have taken it and really really enjoyed it.

I vote for Chinese. It leaves you with so many more options than the other two. Unless you have a specific plan with it.

chinese probably, really, would be the smartest. china is eventually going to take over the world, and it's easy for me to pick up, but i'll probably take japanese.

i've got plans to live there though - so it'd definitely be worth while!

I could not agree with you more. People think I'm exaggerating when I say this. But I'm really not. They are. It's just a matter of time. And not that much time.

I think Japanese would be more fun to learn. Don't know why but Japan just seems like a funner country. In some strange way. It's just all so crazy and different from anywhere else.
