a simple, but yummy, miso soup i just had for lunch: cook a cubed little potatoe in vegetable stock, throw in some kale and some green onions. once it has cooled down a bit, add the miso (boiling miso destroys its good nutritional properties). sprinkle some gomasio for topping ( Read more... )

miso is a fermented soybean paste that's used in a lot of japanese food (at sushi restaurants, they usually give you a little bowl of miso soup at the beginning)... it's really strong and you usually just disolve a tablespoon in water...supposed to be really good for you. gamasio is made of roasted sesame seeds, you sprinkle it on stuff kind of like you would parmasan cheese... :)

that sounds like a yummy soup. i think i do like miso in moderate quantities.

also, did i tell you i've decided to try japanese food again?

no! excitatory! so, do you you want to go for sushi? ;) there are lots of yummy tofu things at some sushi restaurants (the ones i went to in vancouver, anyway).
