The Ponds!

Here are my Pond story ideas:

  • I would love to write a story about the lead-up to Amy and Rory's lives in the 2nd Big Banged universe. In my head, Amy went through those years of therapy and came out more emotionally well-adjusted and self-competent, but sometimes she cries and doesn't know why, and sometimes little, stupid things like a fez hat or empty windows in a painting can destroy her day. Rory doesn't care. His family always said he had an old soul and could never be surprised by anything, and he's not phased by or ever impatient with Amy, no matter what. He always listens to her stories about the Raggedy Doctor, and even if he feels this aching sadness sometimes thinking about how it would be to lose such a friend (or to create such a friend, only to lose him), he is always very gentle with those memories, and, truth be told, sometimes believes them, too. Rory's the first person Amy ever asks 'Why am I crying?' and he's the first person to give her an answer: 'Because you've lost something?'

  • Rory chooses medical school because he finds the human body really fascinating, sure, and because he loves helping people. But also because that is what Amy wants in her future husband, in a boyfriend. She's always talking about "my doctor."

  • Amy Pond's Raggedy Doctor does not come back, but in the place of his blue box one morning as she wakes up outside, sits a polished white owl with a letter in its beak, a beautiful script reading Miss Amelia Jessica Pond, Aunt Sharon's Old Suitcase, The Back Garden, 26 Jupiter Road, Leadworth, Hampshire.

  • Amy and Rory first meet at a Halloween party, and then again when someone takes the piss out of Rory with a kissogram.

  • Wee Amy tells wee Rory ghost stories about curses to put on people to make them go away forever. One of those curses is 'I love you.' Rory spends the rest of his adult life trying to show Amy he loves her without ever saying those words.

  • Amy and Rory go swimming! And fail. Spectacularly.

  • Amy starts spending time with Rory's family when Aunt Sharon is off on long business trips. The fic spans several years as their relationship changes and grows.

  • Amy and Rory role play. A lot.

Hooray for the Ponds! We love the Ponds.
