Heh, I kinda just want to know that 1,000 words of St. Francis being an adorable holy Dr. Doolittle exists. Or, alternatively, Current Kate Beacon and Young Kate Beacon being awesome together. For at least 1,000 words! YES PLEASE.

Things are crazy, but fandom is and always has been a welcome respite from real life. I'm sorry for disappearing off the face of the planet. How are you?

More or less! I present my portfolio for my Masters this Friday, and I am not freaking out about it yet, which is worrisome. I feel the need to be in crisis mode, because that is some Serious Shit that I have to get organized. Other than that, it's just a lot of the usual stress and messy rooms and eating Thanksgiving leftovers.

ME TOO!!!

Basically, I just want to see someone write "This American Life covers Occupy Wall Street, with no punches pulled." Because honestly WHY HAS THIS NOT HAPPENED YET. I CANNOT UNDERSTAND IT.

So if I can't get it in real life, Yuletide to the rescue.

I nominated my usual bunch of Japanese sources because half my favourite fandoms are tragically small. BUT I am most excited that Community is nominated as well! I fully intend to write some Community fic even if it's not the fandom I get matched on.

That's great! I haven't been watching regularly since about halfway through the second season (when things got less adorable and a little too gross for me? IDK, when the happy music disappeared, so did my passionate interest in the show), but hearing that it might get cancelled is distressing. I like that it is around and want things to stay that way.

I came into Community halfway through series two, so I had an odd perspective to start with. The first episode I saw was Advanced Dungeons & Dragons and left me thinking that Jeff was a really nice guy. So that gave me a different sense of the show, I guess. I've never noticed the change in tone during series 2. The latest series has been slow to really start firing and there's been a bit more focus on group dysfunction, but there have been some absolute crackers too.

If it gets cancelled, I'll be sad, but they're going to finish off this season, at least, and three series for a show like this is still an impressive score, I think.
