Well, I feel a little sheepish about not having updated or indeed having been online very much lately. I do keep up with reading my flist, though

It is so nice to see you back! I wondered where you went to and how you were.
I am really happy that you have such a great job now. It sounds completely wonderful. If you saw my post this week, we were taking care of some kitties until we found a no-kill shelter that would take them (which we did yesterday). I already miss the little meowing poopie things, they were so adorable!
*hugs* *was bummed* I have missed you and you have been thought of a lot, but because I fail, I never e-mailed you.
However, your new job sounds amazing! Who cares if it's not French-related? If you love it, stick with it. You may not love being a French professor. And France? Isn't going anywhere. You work on making that Baby Tree and saving puppies and kitties.
Dittos to Tara's comment about failing. I should have enquired sooner. I'm just sometimes hesitant about the line between butting into people's lives and asking after them.
Anyway, *gasp* NO KNITTING????? Gah! How? Why? You should be promoting knitting blankets for homeless animals!
Which brings me to the job. I'm just ever so slightly jealous. OK, I'm really jealous. Doood! Cooool! Like really cool! The only thing I could do without is the TV appearances. And I'm not quite sure how I would handle dealing with people from PETA (who are ill-informed at best and verging on evil at worst imho, but then maybe I'm ill-informed about them *shrug*), if indeed you ever have to. Anyway, colour me green, but I am chuffed for you. So cool.
Funny you should mention that, Canute. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA. That has, of course, been on my mind. KAL, anyone?.
As for PETA. You know, pick your battles, people. The fur thing? Right on. I even hear you on the sheep mulesing issue to some extent. But save the goddamn silkworms? 'If fish could scream, you wouldn't eat them...'? Guys. You lost me. And also... if they weren't so horridly bitchy. I mean, put Christina Ricci on your worst-dressed list for wearing fur on the cover of W. I get that. But was it really necessary to speculate on how many animals would have to die to cover her giant forehead? She's a pretty girl. And I'm no fan of the Olsen twins, but when you're on about fur, maybe don't crack on them for eating disorders, ya know?
Yeah, is it obvious that I had to spend too much time this week on the PETA site getting fur statistics?
