So last year in August I bought a '96 Subaru outback. I paid about $4400 for it, if memory serves. I also got suckered big-time. The piece of crap was a junker from the start, and the seller obviously knew it - he had gone to pains to warm the engine up before letting me test drive (had to 'drive it in from out of town') and the check engine light
