Awesome report! I can't believe people were throwing things at the stage, that's awful. If anyone throws anything at them tonight they're gonna get whanged on the head with a cowbell.
So I take it you're at the Santa Fe show. Tell me, how do you like Oppenheimer?? Holy Crap I LOVED them!! The only problem is that the CD, though good, doesnt rick as much as they did on stage.
YES Flansy is so sweet. He seemed irritated though when I hugged him, but it was also one in the morning. I gave him a BIG hug though. He just kinda seemed irritated in general. Some of the fans were being a bit too obnoxious.
I've actually seen Oppenheimer before, in St. Louis and before that at the Bowery Ballroom, and I really liked them, so I was sad they elected not to make the trip to Santa Fe at the last minute. TMBG was left sans opening band, but it seemed to be all right because they approached the show with a very chill attitude. The fans were nice and laid back, nothing got thrown on the stage, and they were unmolested after the show due to scurrying back to the bus to get out of the thirty-five-degree windy weather. Other than dear Marty, who came back out and signed everything under the sun for his adoring public.
The Johns were running around before the show but I'm apparently still too shy to say hello to Mr. Flansburgh unless he says hi first. I applaud your bravery for hugging him!
