This year was rough. Not just for me, but for a lot of people.
My mental health suffered this year. I'm really burnt out on Uni and my degree program, but I only have one semester to go so I am going to power through and finish. I have managed to keep my grades up and have turned out a few projects that I'm pleased with, so that's good. My anxiety got really bad and I am now on medication for it. Turns out I was a little depressed too. The medication is working. I don't feel grey anymore.
I am really grateful for my friends. They've been there for me even when I wasn't all that pleasant to be around.
There were some good times too! I did have the experience of a lifetime and was able to go to London for ten days as part of a study abroad program. It was amazing and I hope to be able to live and work there some day. I attended my first and second "midnight" premiers and had a blast! I saw five plays this year (both professional and community theater) and loved every single one of them. Around Halloween, I got to do some acting of my own (first time in years) when I participated in the haunted tours of campus. I was able to participate in the worldwide simulcast of the Doctor Who 50th anniversary special and that was pretty great! I made Smaug cosplay that I'm really proud of and hope to do more costumes/cosplay in the future.
I'm not going to say "2014 will be my year" because you can't control things like that and I'm not going to make real, solid resolutions because those never work. That being said, I'm going to try to take better care of myself both physically and mentally.
Good luck in 2014!
