Anybody know of a good butcher in the Huntsville/madison area? I'm sick of bad beef from target. I want the real thing again. Preferably on the NW side of town or madison, but I'll drive for if it's really worth it.

you might want to post this to this huntsville lj community.

The only butcher I even know of is on governor's drive "Tim's Specialty Meats," but I know nothing of their product or service.

The only butchers I know are Ronnie's Meat Market and Tim's Specialty Meats. I don't know that the latter does beef... they mostly do things like gator and deer... but they could probably tell you where to go.

Ronnies is on South Parkway I believe. I'm not exactly sure. You can probably find directions or an address in a googlesearch or the Yellow Pages. I haven't ever tried their steak but we go there for beef bones for making broth. I can't imagine they'd be bad since they've been in Huntsville for a long time.

Also if you know anyone who has a CostCo card... their beef is pretty good. We get steaks from them all the time.

I second the CostCo thing! They have great meat for a very reasonable price usually. That's where we usually get almost all our meat.
