I know. My gf doesn't like the video because she thinks he dies at the end. At first I was totally heartbroken by that thought (because I become very emotionally involved with animated birds *g*), but now I think that that's not the point. He spent his entire life preparing for this one defining moment, wanting to fulfill a dream of flying through the forest. And he does it, and he's so happy, and that's beautiful. (And I know it's an animation, and I'm probably over-thinking it, but still!)

I think she's probably right about him dying in the end, and you do hear a thud. I suppose that signifies the price he has to pay for those few moments of absolute freedom and happiness. But he's actually crying, so much does it mean to him, and I agree that that's beautiful. (And it's fun to overthink animations. *g*)

I have this saved to my videos. I cried the first time I saw it as well. The joy little kiwi feels during his flight, well it's just heartbreakingly touching.

As you can see...he's my icon.

I saw your icon on some other post (maybe on Few's journal) right after I posted this video and was excited to see someone else loved him as much as I do. He's so happy, and it's so sweet. And now I'm going to have to go watch it again. :)
