The following question is taken directly from one of the books I'm supposed to be studying from:

What size of circular pipe is needed to provide a flow rate of 250 firkins per fortnight when there is a pressure drop of 3x10^5 scruples per sqaure barleycorn? The pipe is horizontal

A scruple is about 15ml, IIRC. We have to learn it in pharmacy.

Yeah, we wiki'd the things.
A firkin is a quarter barrel, I can't recall how much it is in litres though.
A fortnight, of course, is 2 weeks.
and a barleycorn is half an inch, or something.
