it occured to me, as i flipped my attention from the opening band to Mind of Mencia on the television screen hovering over the bar, that maybe this is a sign of getting old. i go out to see a band play, and instead i wind up reading closed-captioned comedy bits on television and laughing a deaf, unselfconscious laugh. around me, everyone is
