The black ninja and the white ninja were together at the black ninja’s house one day. The black ninja had a pet black cat who was very old and whom he had begun watching during a lull in their conversation

its kind of funny, ya know, we were talking about dying cats too. we sat at the dinner table dad was talking about how the cat was going to die soon. she is 98 in cat years and it's kind of depressing seeing as she's been around a year befor i was born and she's been there all my life. then he started talking about how the dog will die before i get to collage.then he talked about how a late co-worker of his got a sex-change.
I love you. Next time I see you remind me to hug you enough so that you don't think about anything this much. I'll still love you when you lose all your hair. Heh.
I am glad to have met him while he was still in this world (though, as you say, not of it; but then, there's a lot that fits under that particular umbrella).
My little Goosie had messy problems during the last years of her life; it made me very sad, so eventually I ended up going up to the top of the barn, where she more or less lived by that point, and spending about an hour with her every morning, just petting her on my lap and reading. I think that was the one death I've never had to mourn, because I know that I did right by her while she was here, and I know that she was suffering by the end, and went on peacefully. Anyway. Just random black kitty recollection moment, not the least because your Spook reminded me of her...
This is one of the most poignant scenes in the Bananja, for me. Perhaps because the circumstances are so similar to the relationship Skilo and I had. Seriously, aside from my bunks not having a ladder, this could be me talking about Skilo. So it's memorable for me in that sense, in addition to it just being a great passage.
I'm reminded both of the awesomeness of the Bananja and Spook simultaneously. Mildly overwhelming.
