Getting a bit sick of being screwed

So my company is changing its compensation program. It's played up like a big awesome change for employees, but when you cut through the spin, it's more of a cost-cutting program than anything else. The peons are getting screwed again ( Read more... )

Yep, I got burned by one of those plans a few years ago.

"With the new plan, you have the chance to make 40% more than last year!"

Of course, due mostly to factors outside my control, I made 50% less than the previous year.

And I am sure that was their goal.

Yup, that sounds like what they're doing here. I think a few people will do better, but the vast majority will do worse. I'm not impressed.

I find it annoying that every time there's an announcement about benefits, or pay, or bonuses that it's always for the worse. Even in record-breaking good years, they still feel the need to make negative changes.

If it was me, I'd wait till raise time, and if you didn't get one, I'd seriously talk with someone about how upset you are and threaten to leave (if that is a realistic option).
