LOL! Yeah, when I was going over the handlebars I was convinced it was gonna be pretty serious, but it's not really that big a deal. A bit of an annoyance, but I almost think it's kinda cool.
Good luck charms? None that I know of. I was planning on getting lucky that night, so maybe I used all my luck up with the fall. I decided to be a good boy that night... big, gaping wounds aren't the most sexy things in the world, and they're probably not a good thing when dealing with flying bodily fluids.
That's good to know. Besides, if someone gets majorly turned on by large sections of missing flesh and sutures, I don't think I want to play with them... probably not good for my health.
Luckily it wasn't too bad. Annoying discomfort on Saturday (with about half an hour of really bad pain in the middle of the night), slightly less annoying on Sunday, and almost nothing today unless I do something stupid like bend my arm wrong or put too much pressure on it.
But yeah, I wouldn't recommend going over big bumps on steep hills at full speed again. I think I'll be more careful in the future.
You remind me of a time when I was kid, around 10 or 11, and I lost my balance going down a steep hill and scraped my chin and my belly pretty badly. Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow!
I'm kinda torn about the resting bit. I was certainly feeling tired on Saturday, and part of me is looking forward to having more free time to just do my own thing, but I don't know if I'll be able to bum around for that long. I'll probably do a bunch of rollerblading, and probably bike more often. While I won't be as active as usual, I can't sit still unless I'm completely bedridden.
That would certainly keep me occupied. If you've got any in mind, let me know. ;)
But, um, I should probably wait until the wounds have at least healed over to the point where they're no longer open. Flying man-shot of questionable status isn't something I want to give direct access to my blood stream. :(

And the stitches crowd is overrated.
