So aside from all the other hassles my work laptop has thrown at me recently, costing me over two weeks of downtime, it's now decided that the best way to boost my productivity is to overheat and shut itself down at the drop of a hat ( Read more... )

Hmm, that's weird. I had one or two kernel panics back in 2001 when OS X was brand new, but nothing serious has happened since then. But BSODs in XP? While they're certainly not a daily or even a weekly occurrence, they happen way too often.

And don't worry, I'll forgive you for speaking out against the Holy Macintosh. But just this once. :)

Really? I've been using OS X since 10.1 and haven't had a kernel panic since 10.3 came out....

Anything is possible with Boot Camp/Parallels/VMWare. I use an PowerBook all day as the IT Overlord (and Remote Desktop on a Win2003 server), and it's worked great for me for over 3 years.
