Steve needed to go out of town so I rented a DVD that I knew he didn't want to watch.
Frankenstein: The True Story (1973)
I saw Frankenstein: The True Story on TV when I was 14-years-old and I had been wanting to see it again. It was released on DVD in 2006. It's three hours long. I really enjoyed it! I had forgotten how many famous actors it has in it.
James Mason, Leonard Whiting, David McCallum, Jane Seymour, Nicola Pagett, Agnes Moorehead, Ralph Richardson, John Gielgud, Tom Baker
The title is misleading because it isn't true to the book at all. After watching the movie, I did some research about the original book. I didn't realize Mary Shelley was only 19-years-old when she wrote the book that many consider to be the first science-fiction novel.
While watching Frankenstein: The True Story, I saw a lot of parallels with Revenge of the Sith. Anakin Skywalker has a lot in common with Dr. Victor Frankenstein. Both were willing to bargain with the Devil to cheat Death of the ones they loved. Both ended up being consumed by their choices. They even had the same hair.
