For over 8 years I've been making CDs for 3 of my cousins for their birthdays. They started out sort of as novelty birthday cards, but have progressed into complete package design projects with a real mix CD. Luckily for me the birthdays are spread out evenly throughout the year, so I have enough time to prepare for each one.
These are just the front covers of the CDs: some of them don't really show what they actually look like. One of them pops up into a 3-D box; one opens up like a little file folder; one has a cut-out window with replaceable inserts. They are printed on acetates, construction paper, Japanese art paper, velum, card stock... they all have their own story. They also generally get better, hopefully, from a design perspective: I was 15 when I started. Yeah album covers!
