It's not that Orihime doesn't want to pay attention during class. She's enthusiastic about learning, really. She's just so prone to distraction. So when Chizuru-chan passed her a survey during English, it would have been going against everything natural for Orihime to ignore it.

Most of the questions were answered in a snap. Others required a bit of thought, prompting Orihime to chew on the end of her pen, staring out the window for inspiration. Of course, then she would often be distracted by the baby sparrows in the nest just outside the window.

There was one question, though, that required more thought than all the others.

What do you hate more than anything?

Orihime's brow furrowed. She didn't hate too many things, did she? She hated being sad. But everyone hates being sad, so that seemed like a silly answer. She hated...what did she hate? She scratched her head in thought. Nothing came to mind, really. Except...

She frowned. She hated feeling weak. She hated being useless. Above all, she hated being a burden and not being able to protect her loved ones. Orihime batted a tear away. How silly of her to cry in the middle of class, over such a silly thing. What would Onii-san say?

She paused her pen in mid-air above the paper, trying to find a way to put her thoughts into words. What she finally came up with almost caused her to start crying again.

Myself.
