Interview with Kim Clark, past dean of Harvard Business School

Jun 24, 2007 01:43

From 2005, Charlie Rose interviewed Kim Clark, then dean of Harvard Business School. Now he's president of Brigham Young University-Idaho.

It's a tremendously inspiring interview. Clark gives fantastic wisdom and insight about life and becoming a leader. He's also a serious Mormon and talks about how his faith and missionary experience helped mature him.

(However, the Mormon religion is an incredibly kooky faith. I toured Salt Lake City in April and laughed out loud at the crazy stories they believe. It makes me question the judgment of any Mormon to not see its logical inconsistencies.)

He says: "No amount of business success will make up for being a failure at home."

He emphasizes character, values, and integrity as absolutely key to leadership.

He also talks about implicit discrimination against women in business, how women work better in a team, etc.
