My unreliable California friends

Jul 14, 2009 00:03

I am fed up with how unreliable most of my California friends are in returning phone calls. :( When they say "I'll call you back," I usually can't trust them.

One of my pet peeves is people who don't return phone calls/emails. How much time does it take to call someone, even to say: "I'm too busy, but let's talk on (a specific date and time)"?

this is an excellent lesson for you in release of expectations
as an Air Force brat, I've learned that physical presence is very important for a friendship
i can't tell you how many friends i've lost over the years due to moves and travel

besides, you have a whole new world of friends to meet
go! enjoy!

The problem is that even back in California, people who lived 10 min away from me would not keep in touch with me, after I had invested all this effort, for years. It's very frustrating and I have grown cynical about some people.

I can't trust people by their words. Only actions. I've been disappointed by "friends" too many times.

it is very frustrating, and people like you and I will continue to be frustrated by the actions of people likes these.
i think most people want to be true to their word, it's just harder to walk the walk than it is to talk the talk, ya know?
