Steve/Danny; Danny is out of town for some reason or another, and Grace gets sick--not hospital-sick, but she's out for the count. Steve takes care of her.

Steve had seen Danny limping since the late night bust the previous evening. They weren’t anywhere near being done for the day, or was it night now? and Steve knew Danny wouldn’t take kindly to being told ‘to take it easy’ and prop his leg up. Instead Steve went to the break room, poured a fresh cup of coffee, grabbed some Advil and went to Danny’s office.

Danny looked up when Steve came through his office door and gave him a half-smile when he saw the coffee. Damn...if Danny couldn't even manage a proper smile at the sight of coffee, he was hurting worse than Steve had thought.

Danny accepted the mug gratefully and downed half of it before acknowledging Steve. "Thank you," he said sincerely, then frowned when he got a look at the determination on Steve's face. "Oh, great," he sighed, gulping down another mouthful of coffee to fortify himself before continuing. "I do not like this face, Steven. What've you done this time? Did you blow up my car? Throw a shark off a roof? What? What, Steven, what did you--"

Steve reached out toward Danny and opened his palm, revealing three Advil caplets.

Danny gave a sheepish smile and took the caplets from Steve and downed them with the rest of his coffee. "Thanks babe."

"If the pain flares up again, why don't you head home," Steve suggested before leaving Danny's office.

Danny merely waved him off and turned his attention back to the reports he was working on.

Steve and Danny were out interviewing the latest victim in a string of take over robberies that happened just before opening or just before closing of the business, however, this victim was different. His business was robbed in the middle of the day when rightfully, the business should be busy.

Ambrose Hanks owned a seafood market, and from speaking with the other employees, Danny was under the impression that Mr. Hanks, the owner, never came to the store during business hours. They were also shocked when he told the manager to close up after the last customer.

While Steve did his looming, 'You better not lie or I'll know it" stare, Danny took point in questioning the owner/witness. "Mr. Hanks, your manager informs us that your visit today was out of the ordinary. What prompted you to come in today?"

Ambrose, in his cream colored linen pants and subtle print Hawaiian shirt cast a long appraising look Danny way, and gave dazzling smile, one that could almost rival Steve's

Ambrose tilted his head to the side as he looked Danny over, his gaze lingering over Danny's broad shoulders and the stretch of his tight dress shirt. Raising his eyes up to Danny's face, Ambrose licked his lips. "My horoscope stated that today I would meet a handsome and charming stranger and I just couldn't pass up the oppertunity to see if it was true ( ... )

PART 1: Steve/Danny: Valentines trialanderror12 May 24 2012, 23:08:00 UTC
Grace Williams may only be nine years old, but she is absolutely sure of one thing: she will never understand grownups.

She knows Danno loves Uncle Steve, because Danno gets this look in his eyes when he's around that Grace hasn't seen since Mommy started falling in love with Step-Stan. Plus he yells at Steve a lot, and Gramma always said Danno only yells because he caresShe knows Uncle Steve loves Danno, too, because…well, she's not really sure how she knows, she just does. He's different, with her and Danno, than he is when other people are around. Less closed-off, more affectionate. And he lets them stay at his house every time she's with Danno for the weekend, and they swim on the beach and build sandcastles and Steve and Danno fight over what to make for dinner (she takes Danno's side on that one, the health food Steve tries to get them to eat is just gross)…and sometimes Grace feels like they're more of a family, the three of them, than she and Mommy and Danno ever were, even back when things were good in Jersey ( ... )

When Kono gets back to her car, still dripping wet after a couple hours of surfing off the North Shore, she's not exactly expecting the voice mail on her cell. Listening to it though she can't help but smile. She loves her bosses, really but she agrees with what Grace said in the message. They're taking to long. If a nine year old girl, who still thinks boys have cooties can tell that Danny and Steve are hopelessly smitten with each other than the two men in question must be really blind not to realize they like each other.

Hopping into the front seat she decides that this mission is going to require a bit more of a coordinated effort than just Grace and her can do on their own. They're gonna need help. Lots of it. Hitting the speed dial she pulled out of the parking lot and back onto the road.

"Hey, brah. I gotta mission that for you..."
