"Hello?"
[Her wings gave a ruffle as they folded closer to her body.]

It was by pure chance, then, that Ryu spotted Delta and Rion heading towards the source of the shot. Gliding in for a landing, he changed back once the drop was safe enough for him to make without harm, landing a fair distance from Rion and Delta before calling out to them. "You heard it too?" He asked, drawing his sword from the sheathe.
For a long time now, he had thought about Rei's killer. The possibility was incredibly slim, but it kept nagging at him from the back of his mind. Could it be the same one who did all this now? Ryu pondered this and kept his wits about him.

But then there was the question of the killer's identity. Especially when Vergil capped eyes on the body for himself. A mask? Really? How cliche. How boring. How typical.
And his voice was snide when he finally spoke up. "Perhaps my knowledge of the protocol is a little rusty, but typically when the sheriff's posse rides in, they expect the evidence to not be tampered with."

And now, even as Delta moved the killer's body from the house, is was all she could do to keep from bursting into tears there and then.
But she had to know who it was. She had to make certain of the man's identity before she could force herself to go into the house and go over the fight. Right now, being Sheriff was last on her mind. This was far too personal.
Numb all over, she finally let go of the door frame and moved back to let Delta through. "Bastard.." Claire managed, the word quiet but sharp on her shaking breath.

Which was why his voice held a somewhat sharp edge as he turned his attention fully to Claire. "Personal grievances aside, Sheriff, the killer's being toted off without being remotely identified. I'm sorry, but this has been far too annoying to simply let pass."
As if that didn't display a multitude of issues right there.
"Too many have died here. Shameful and ridiculous, to grow lax now." Here his attention turned outward, to the others present. "Really, is that it? The culmination of this entire thing? You simply cart the dead killer off and dust your hands off for a job well done? Sickening."

Pulling herself together, at least for the moment, she gave him a sour look and shook her head. "No. I need to know just as much as anyone else."
Thin lipped, Claire took a deep breath and made for the body as it was deposited on the ground.
'Please let it not be Tom' She wished, repeating it like a mantra as she walked.
But something told her she already knew who it was. Even though it was Tom's house, and he was no where to be seen, there still might have been a chance that it was someone else. The fact that body was wearing his mining suit... well that pretty much sealed the deal, didn't it. the only thing left was to take off the mask and make sure it was tom's body, and not someone else setting him up to take the fall.
