[Open Log] Blues night @ The Lux

Mar 10, 2010 20:35

Who: OPEN! Will add as entered: (Grace raptureblues)
Where: The Limbo Room (Downstairs at The Lux)
When: Wednesday Evening
Summary: Typical night at the Lux...open for any casual interaction?
Rating: PG?

It was a laid-back evening, a communal pot of mirelurk stew on the bar counter, along with several mugs and spoons to take-as-you-please.

Downstairs at the Lux looked a bit rearranged, tables and chairs shuffled around, a few lantern lights scattered about, fashioned iron lamps the forge had made a few months back.

Grace Holloway sat at the piano bench, cane propped up somewhere nearby, cranking out the occasional old jazz tune as the chords came back to her...it had been years since she'd had to close the Limbo Room down in Rapture, and she hadn't practiced on the keys herself in some while...easier to simply hum along with old records.

Luckily the blues were a simple chord pattern to bang out, once getting the hang of it, and the soul in her voice made up for any slightly clunky self-accompaniment.

♫ Nobody knows you when you down and out
In my pocket not one penny
And my friends I haven't any
But If I ever get on my feet again
Then I'll meet my long lost friend
It's mighty strange, without a doubt
Nobody knows you when you down and out
I mean when you down and out
